South Korea proposes a record 2027 budget and nearly doubles funding for AI, chips and data centers

The South Korean government sent Parliament a 2027 budget of 820.9 trillion won ($614.5 billion), up 12.8%. Of that total, 21.3 trillion won goes to AI and the “three megaprojects” (a chip factory, data centers and physical AI), almost double 2026. Parliament has until 12/02 to approve it.
