Eight in ten South Korean judges have already seen fake AI-generated precedents in cases

A survey of 360 South Korean judges, conducted from 10/06 to 10/16, shows that 80.7% have seen precedents that do not exist and 65.4% have seen distorted precedents in court filings. In 69.5% of cases, the errors were brought by the parties themselves; in 57.6%, by lawyers. About 92% support institutional measures, such as fines.
