AI from USP and Uppsala detects the most serious type of heart attack and points to the blocked artery from the ECG alone

Researchers from InCor-USP and Uppsala University, in Sweden, published in Nature Communications a model that identifies occlusion myocardial infarction and locates the blocked artery using only the 12-lead ECG. It was trained on 540,372 Swedish exams and validated with 401 InCor patients. According to the authors, it is right 96% of the time when the ECG shows the classic changes and 82% when they do not appear. The tool is still experimental and depends on further validation and approval by Anvisa.
