Government rushes to pass the AI Legal Framework and competition rules for big techs by December

According to O Globo, the Lula government wants to pass by December the Artificial Intelligence Legal Framework, already approved in the Senate, and the competition bill for large digital platforms. In the Chamber of Deputies, the rapporteur of the AI framework is Aguinaldo Ribeiro (PP-PB), and the text provides for fines of up to R$ 50 million. The big tech bill, with Aliel Machado as rapporteur, targets companies with revenue above R$ 5 billion in Brazil or R$ 50 billion worldwide.
