Rumor: Reddit post says Qwen 4.0 and Qwen 5.0 will stay open, but there is no official statement

A post on r/LocalLLaMA titled “official statement” claims that Alibaba's Qwen team head, Liu Dayiheng, guaranteed that Qwen 4.0 and Qwen 5.0 will remain open source, and cites 3 billion downloads, more than 460 models and more than 300,000 derivatives. So far, the official source has not appeared: the site OmniTools.ai, which followed the case, says there is no official statement confirming the information. Treat it as a rumor.
